The correctional health care study aims to understand provider perspectives on professional issues impacting carceral care. It was funded by a faculty grant from the Center for Bioethics at UNC. Interview data collection for this study began in August, 2024 and was completed in April, 2025. Overall, 55 providers of health care in state and federal prisons, and in jails, were interviewed from across the United States. Data analysis is ongoing and papers are currently in progress.
